I want to become a navy fighter pilot and my eyesight is not 20/20 and i am not sure about lasik because people say that it can permanlety damage my eyes and i hear that lasik can ruin my chances of getting to fly for navy as a fighter pilot

I have been doing some research and was not sure if you have bad vision that is corrected with contacts or glasses, if you get laser eye surgery to return your eyes to 20/20 vision, will that qualify you to fly for the Marine Corps or are you just out of luck if you have bad vision. Any help would be nice.

I want to join the airforce after highschool but i dont have 20/20 vision, im wondering if i got laser eye surgery would i be able to fly jets for the airforce?

Im 17… and i want to fly planes or helicopters or sum thin. . I’m going into the military no matter what i don’t know what branch yet. i wear contacts and i want to get laser eye surgery but i dont know if i can because of my age? This is important to me, so if anyone can tell me how old you have to be fore laser eye surgery i would HIGHLY APPRECIATE IT!!

I have heard from some yes and from some no. What are the current rules for this? Also if you do become a pilot as a warrant officer do you get to choose the helicopter you want to fly?
