    I read to join the air force you have to have 20/20 vision but i don’t have 20/20 vision I have glasses and each lens is 1.75 each. I can see perfectly fine up close but from faraway i cant see. I was wondering if there i way i can fix this with out laser eye surgery because the air force won’t let someone in with the surgery.

      I have glasses and I want to be in the air force but my friend told me I have to have to have 20 20 vision to pilot. So if I get laser eye surgery to replace my glasses can I still pilot?

        Why can't a person that has had laser eye surgery be an Air Force pilot?

        Why dose this disqualify a person from being an Air Force (fighter) pilot? I could understand if it has anything to do with the pressure of the g – force and could possibly mess up your vision. What if everything else is perfect with physical, academic, and mental status? Could it be waved?

        Is laser eye surgery worth the risk if it means I can fly?

        I want to be a pilot in the air force more than anything. I heard that they allow laser eye surgery in some situations. My vision is 20/60 correctable to 20/10. If I should be so lucky as to get the opportunity..is laser eye surgery worth it? I don’t want to ruin my life with a mistake..but I don’t want live my life with regret either…
